Introduction
Under the new normal – The Women of Excellence Awards (WOEA) recognises individuals and companies which have contributed to supporting women empowerment and bringing the word ‘equality to a whole new level. Making its first debut, WOEA celebrates and recognises individuals and organisations from all industry to honour those who have impacted the workforce and set an example of what women are capable of.
The awards are set to recognise individuals and businesses’ accomplishments for their contributions to strengthening women, plus providing women with a platform for women to showcase their strengths. The award is also our commitment to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions that women have made regardless of industries, notwithstanding making Malaysia a country that supports empowering women.
Women, through their commitment and hard work, have made various changes throughout all industries. Many have gone from being a home-maker to changing history. Truthfully, where would we be without contributions from women? There is no denying that we need women even more now. Kudos to all women for bringing changes little by little to the industries and society through their efforts.
About Award
Purpose
For many businesses, empowering and recognising women as the main driving force in an organisation has been crucial in recent years. Over the course of decades, women have risen from being oppressed to many at big corporations’ helm. Besides being the head of big organisations, some women are also the country leader, leading their nation with wisdom and good leadership.
The organiser is confident and believes that the world would succeed if organisations start to think and work differently by emphasising women empowerment. This means giving women a chance to lead and moving towards leading a more significant change for the future of the nation, economically, socially and politically.
This award programme is to recognise and support women taking charge in bringing changes and helping them achieve scale for impact. We see an ample opportunity to support, inspire, reward, and collaborate to help them scale and grow – both as individuals and as an enterprise.
What’s more, we want to continue bringing more women together to show appreciation towards our fellow women who are out there by showing them what women can. Imagine what we can achieve together. That is the reason for the existence of this year’s award programme.

Vision and Leadership
Recognising the role and contributions of individuals and/or businesses that have supported women empowerment
Corporate Performance
Financial information and recognition from other organisations is an important indicator of success. The panel of judges will examine these for the nominee’s organisation. Leadership in bringing the organisations to be the forefront of women empowerment will also be assessed.
Innovative Business Achievements
How is the nominee’s organisation unique or innovative in its way of empowering women in the workplace? What are its major products and/or services? Why is it special, and how has it demonstrated excellence in its field? How does the organisation or individual adapt to the new way of powering women in the workforce despite challenging times?
Sustainability Initiative
In addition to corporate performance and innovation, a truly outstanding leader will use their skills to incorporate sustainability initiative to help the women grow organically and overcome social or environmental problems by providing solutions. Now and beyond this, a leader must be prepared yet able to withstand and weather the unexpected.
